Your Career

Palo Alto Networks is building a world-class NPI product management team and continues to look for top-notch NPI product managers to expand the team. We are looking for an exceptional leader for introducing new products and services in our Cloud Security Speedboats. In this role, you will partner with various product, engineering and business stakeholders to introduce a portfolio of new products in the cloud-delivered market.

In addition to your thought leadership and creativity, you will partner closely with IT Product Managers, R&D Product Managers, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Revenue, Sales Operations, and Global Customer Support to ensure new offerings are robust and the experience for our customers and partners is seamless. Having a software engineering background and experience supporting the business functions listed is critical for success in this challenging and rewarding role.

Your ImpactDefine vision and strategy for how modern cloud products should be commercialized, sold, licensed, and supported in the enterprise marketAlign closely with product management from Ideation to General Availability to eliminate delays in GA timelineManage new product offerings effectively, manage feature prioritization and trade-off decision making in collaboration with Product ManagersPartner with business, product management and engineering to define requirements, develop functional specifications, and estimate delivery timelinesWork with business stakeholders across the company to understand their business, operational and engineering requirements - Design and deliver innovative solutions to address those needsAct as the product owner in an Agile/Scrum process and own writing of user stories, acceptance criteria, and sign off on feature completionEffectively partner with business, engineering and IT teams to deliver on an aggressive agenda of programs for improving delivery executionManage business expectations, be proactive in planning for new offerings, and build excellent partnerships with various leaders within the company

Qualifications

Your ExperienceStrong 8+ years of experience working as a Product Owner in high tech companyStrong desire to take ownership of a set of new product offerings and develop capabilities to commercialize themA product development background with excellent knowledge of commercial aspects of cloud productsDrive to design something new, innovative, and disruptiveUnderstanding of the commercial and operational needs of Cloud product offeringsKnowledge of business systems readiness for product launches (SFDC, SAP, Steelbrick quoting and billing)Experience working with engineering and cross functional teams in a high technology companyExperience working in Agile/Scrum teams as a Product OwnerBachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering or an equivalent combination of skills, training, and experience or equivalent military experience is requiredSoftware development background is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSuperlative collaboration mindset – this is a highly cross-functional roleA do-what-it-takes attitudeLocated in SF Bay area who can be in office 3 days/week

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $142,000/yr to $229,700/yr.
