We strive to have a diverse staff and particularly encourage Black and Indigenous people, and people of color to apply and be part of our team.Job Summary:The Grant Accountant works with a team of three staff and oversees the accounting, invoicing, and reporting functions related to grant funded awards and contracts. The position owns the chart of accounts related to these awards and contracts and is able to provide insight and guidance to internal stakeholders. The position also takes responsibility for invoicing and reporting to the funders and works as a liaison to ensure timely and accurate information is exchanged. In addition, certain monthly and annual closing responsibilities are part of this position. https://lmna.io/qqjyvFull COVID-19 vaccination is required for this role (proof of vaccination will be requested prior to employment).Essential Duties:Provides detailed financial reporting to internal stakeholders and regularly meets to review.Prepares and provides financial reporting and invoicing to funding source partners.Reviews payment requests from sub-recipients and resolves any discrepancies prior to approving payment.Works closely with Community Service Team to ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance rules and regulations.Documents internal control processes for Rental Assistance program in compliance with Uniform Guidance rules and regulations.Supports Single Audit process with external audit firm.Provides various audit schedules to support audit activities.Actively identifies process improvements and takes initiative to take corrective action.Prepares general ledger journal entries to record activities.Provides various audit schedules, answers auditor questions, and provides documentation to support the annual audit.Researches and documents accounting transactions & resolves accounting discrepancies.Prepares monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts, reviews and approves monthly reconciliations.Performs other related duties as assigned.Job Scope:Job encounters recurring work situations with occasional variations from the norm. The work involves a moderate degree of complexity or difficulty. The position operates from established and well-known procedures and requires strong communication both within the department and with other departments as well. Decisions are sometimes made by a group process and sometimes on an independent basis, with supervisor review on a general basis.Supervisory Responsibility:The position is not supervisory in nature.Interpersonal Contacts:Contacts are normally made with others both inside and outside the organization. Contacts are usually made with other departments or locations. Job is not involved with working with volunteers. Contacts are usually made on own initiative with the majority of contacts being made on the phone, via e-mail or with face-to-face interaction.Knowledge and Skills:Demonstrated understanding of social and racial justice and equity, with a proven commitment to apply racial and economic justice lenses in both personal and workplace contexts.Lived experience and/or demonstrated professional skills working within a diverse work environment.Demonstrated working knowledge of Uniform Guidance of Federal Awards rules and regulations.Proven careful attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and problem-solving is a must.Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of professional accounting principles, practices, and methods in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and non-profit accounting practices.Demonstrated experience in intermediate Microsoft Office skills and computerized accounting systems with general ledger/report writing software including Microsoft Dynamics (Solomon), FRx, Management Reporter, or other report-writing software such as Enterprise, preferred.Proven advanced working knowledge of relational databases, with Solomon experience desired.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting assigned deadlines.Education and/or Experience:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in accounting or a related field. Must have at least three years’ general accounting experience with an emphasis on general ledger processing and financial reporting.
