The Minecraft Franchise Services team is looking for a Software Engineer to drive the timely delivery of next generation game technology and foundations.
The Software Engineer role takes end-to-end ownership for development and quality of products and services that delight customers and add strategic value to Microsoft. They evaluate requirements, estimate costs, and design and implement products and services. They define and implement the quality criteria for their products and services, using measurements and insights to understand and validate the quality of experience for customers. They manage and improve the engineering process, manage risks, dependencies, and compromises, and integrate software into broader ecosystems and/or products and services.
You will work with peers across disciplines (Design, Production, and Quality) to build robust features on a schedule. Identifying technological opportunities, risks, and prototyping new techniques to create quality player-focused games.

Responsibilities
Developing and coordinating features using Microsoft Azure compute and Storage
Ensuring timely, quality deliverables with extensible and maintainable quality code
Actively communicate within and across teams to reach outcomes through collaboration
Building partnerships with developers, program managers, and designers
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience writing cloud-based web services, preferably in Azure.
Experience using Azure for compute, storage, cache, and VMs, or comparable cloud-based web services.
Experience with test- and performance-driven methodology to build services.
Experience writing code in C#, Java, Python, and/or other related languages.
Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,400 - $151,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,300 - $165,400 per year.
