GEICO Staff Counsel is searching for a

PIP Attorney

to join our growing team. The Law Office of Haydee De La Rosa-Tolfyesi, located in Coral Gables/Miami, FL, is seeking an attorney to defend PIP lawsuits filed in Florida courts and other first-party insurance defense matters.Primary Responsibilities:

Conducting legal research and drafting legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.Providing opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath, and defending by trial or dispositive hearing, all matters assigned, as applicable.Travelling as required, including to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.Basic Qualifications:

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.Admitted to the Florida Bar and licensed in good standing to practice law in Florida.1-5 years of Civil litigation experience preferred.Insurance defense-related litigation experience preferred.Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, and through written correspondence.Strong organizational, priority setting, and multi-tasking skills.Ability to learn and apply technical and procedural information quickly and accurately.Must meet and maintain licensing requirements, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases.Location – HYBRID:

Must reside in the tri-county area; Miami-Dade County, Broward County and West Palm Beach County. At this time, GEICO will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.Benefits:
