Medical Registrar - Oncology

If you are looking for an opportunity to join a large organization and work within an ever-growing team-oriented culture, please apply today!Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Medical Registrar - Oncology:Gathers, reviews, and maintains appropriate and accurate documentation of all cancer patients diagnosed and treated.Collects, maintains, and updates Cancer Registry follow-up information for the duration of the patient's life and conducts statistical analyses related to collected data, according to policies and procedures, and the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACoS).Ensures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames .Mentors and fosters a constructive teaching environment that helps students and new registrars build confidence in their skills, knowledge, and abilities.Required Skills:
Understanding of the cancer disease process, including tumor nomenclature, medical terminology, medical procedures, anatomy, and physiology.Possess written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical individualsWell-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.General knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), CNExT cancer data collection, electronic health records (EHR), and EPIC.What's in it for you?
