Our modern Waste-to-Energy and material processing facilities provide municipalities and businesses sustainable alternatives to landfill disposal that help build a circular economy and use waste to generate clean, renewable electricity.If you entered the Environmental field to make a difference, if you would like to be the responsible individual for ensuring environmental regulatory compliance, then this Environmental Manager role is for YOU.This critical role supports facility management personnel in the continued operation of the facility in compliance with all regulatory procedures, including federal and state environmental regulations, production schedules, output requirements and contractual obligations.In this 50% onsite-office and 50% field-plant role, you will be the facility representative on all compliance testing and reporting and should be well versed with Title V Air permit regulations, and the enforcement of permit conditions on a day-to-day and long-term basis. In addition, the position is the primary environmental contact between client-owner and FDEP regulators and should be knowledgeable of general facility environmental operations. Knowledge of air pollution control system operations and Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems is a must.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under limited supervision, the Environmental Manager supports the company and corporate programs and administering policies and procedures developed to prevent, eliminate, control and reduce work-related hazards and maintain environmental responsibility: Reporting to the Facility Manager, and supported by the Regional Environmental Manager, the duties will include:Prepare all reports for federal, state and local regulatory bodies.Analyzing CEMS emissions data and writing technical notification reports.Maintaining PSD and Title V operating requirements, and completing all associated Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, and Annual emission reports.Liaison with client-owner and/or environmental regulators for audits and inspections.Maintain any Covanta internal reporting standards (Environmental Management Information System, root cause analysis reports on exceedances, weekly walkdown reports, etc.)Presentations to staff, visitors, the client/owner and regulators.Proactively work with operators to resolve and prevent environmental issues, developing facility environmental procedures and training.Deliver and complete environmental projects.Maintenance of key environmental records and documents.Actively participate in environmental associations and community engagement.Coordinate with facility/contractors to complete permit required activities: Annual Stack Testing, Quarterly CEMS Audits, Quarterly GHG Audits, residue testing, etc.Maintain strong working relationship with client-owner environmental department.Assist vendors or contractors when addressing environmental systems, i.e. cylinder gas audits, annual performance tests, ash sampling, stormwater, etc.Functions as a proficient environmental/regulatory Manager working within the limits of environmental permitting and compliance issues for Company operations.Provides technical assistance to facility operations to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and/or company environmental regulations.Assist with environmental duties at other facilities throughout the region, as needed.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years experience in the environmental field; preferably the air (or solid waste) field.A working knowledge of FL and federal environmental regulations in air required (waste and water is a plus).Stack test experience and understanding how to react to the results is a plus.Title V air permit experience.Must have strong written and oral communications skills and demonstrate ability to work creatively within the regulatory framework. Must be able to speak, read and write in English.Strong computer, technical, and writing skills are needed.Covanta is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
