The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department of Psychiatry is seeking a new Director, Division of Addiction Science, Prevention and Treatment.

Nature of WorkThe Division of Addiction Science, Prevention, and Treatment is the largest research-focused Division in the Department of Psychiatry with 9 research faculty and 15 federally funded grant awards among them. The Division also provides an unparalleled addiction research training and mentorship environment for medical students, residents, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty.

Examples of Work Performed by the Division Director, Addiction Science Prevention and Treatment

Serves as the Director of the Division of Addiction Science, Prevention and Treatment with oversight of the division's research, clinical operations, and administrative activities.

Provide clear vision and leadership in all aspects of the academic mission.

Integration of the Division into the overall functions of the Department of Psychiatry.

Development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the division and department.

Leadership in strategic planning regarding division activities in all mission areas.

Work collaboratively with the directors of services within the Division, as well as hospital partners.

Maintaining a sufficient number of qualified and competent staff to provide care.

Transmitting the criteria developed for clinical privileges by the department to the Medical Board.

Monitoring the professional performance of all individuals who have clinical privileges in the division.

Assuring mechanisms are in place to involve the members of the division in monitoring and evaluations activities including the identification of important aspects of care provided by the division.

Monitoring the orientation and continuing education of all persons in the division.

Monitoring the teaching, education, and research programs in the division.

Minimum QualificationsApplicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Associate Professor:

4-7 years of related experience at rank or equivalent experience. Minimum degree qualifications:

PhD and/or PsyD, or MD and/or DO .

Professor:

4-7+ years of related experience at rank or equivalent experience. Minimum degree qualifications:

PhD and/or PsyD, or MD and/or DO .

Applicable for all ranks: MD, CO Physician License or Eligible for CO Physician License.

Salary Offered or Salary RangeAssociate Professor:

$220,000 to $245,000.

Professor:

$250,000 to $300,000.
