Postdoc Fellow - Immunology (Dr. Goswami's Lab)

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, United States, 77246

The Immunology department at MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks to determine the fundamental cellular and molecular mechanisms of a wide range of processes by which the body recognizes and eliminates pathogens and uses these findings to unleash the patient's immune system against previously treatment-resistant cancers. Treating the immune system rather than the cancer itself, the therapeutics developed apply to many cancers. The role of immunological and epigenetic pathways in resistance and response to immune checkpoint therapy.

General Laboratory duties or procedures:To work with animal and human samples (Handling, Treatments, Inoculation, and Processing of samples for long-term storage)Perform single-cell RNA sequencing, able to run the data in different packages and analyze the tumor immune micro-environmentPerform ATAC-sequencing, able to run the data in different packages and analyze chromatin accessibilityCyTOF staining and analyses of the dataFlow cytometry staining and analysesPerform CHIP-sequencing, able to run the data in different packages and analyze chromatin accessibilityMolecular biology techniques like PCR, RNA/DNA isolation, western blot and knock in/out using CRISPR technology.

LEARNING OBJECTIVESTo understand immunological pathways involved in response and resistance to immune checkpoint therapy at single-cell level. To understand the epigenetic regulations of immune sub-populations.To analyze the single-cell RNA sequencing and ATAC sequencing data.
