This position may include responsibilities in the development, preparation, and teaching of courses within the Business Program. Teaching assignments may include associate and/or bachelor's level course assignments using various modalities including face-to-face, hybrid or fully online. This team member will work in partnership with the faculty, staff, and students dedicated to building strong linkages within the college's Business Pathway. This position works closely with the Business Program chair and reports directly to the Dean of Business, Paralegal & Technology.Essential FunctionsPrepare and teach courses in the fields of general business, management, global logistics, entrepreneurship, human resources, and project management.Develop, implement, and evaluate curricula at the rigor appropriate for the degree program.Motivate students by providing a positive and supportive environment for growth.Use technology tools to enhance student learning in any learning environment.Collaborate with other business faculty and staff.Participate in the college's professional development and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion events.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Business Administration, Business Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field from an accredited college or university.Two (2) years of relevant work experience and/or relevant current teaching experience that particularly qualify the faculty to provide instruction in the field of business.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Business, Business Administration, or Business Management or related field from an accredited college or university.Experience teaching at a community college.Experience in using online classroom platforms (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.).Experience teaching online or with online tools.Conditions of EmploymentSuccessfully complete a criminal history background check prior to employment.The Successful Candidate will DemonstrateProfessional and courteous interactions with students, faculty, and staff.Flexible in the ability to achieve the instructional and general responsibilities of the position.Dynamic, non-traditional delivery methods to teach students of widely varying levels of proficiency and from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles.Experience using technology as an instructional aid to enhance learning.An appreciation of diversity and the benefits of a commitment to cultural awareness and sensitivity in the workplace.Excellent customer service skills; including establishing, building, and maintaining internal/external customer satisfaction.Ethics, integrity, and sound professional judgement.Willingness to collaborate with faculty colleagues.Application ProcessApplication Material & ProceduresComplete application packages must include the following:Tacoma Community College online application.Cover letter and resume. copies of transcripts for all colleges and universities attended.Terms of EmploymentThis is a part-time faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Part-time faculty salary range is per credit hour starting at $909.33 to $1,240.16. Salary ranges are subject to any approved COLA's after initial placement. If applicable, Lab credit hours are paid at 50% the credit hour rate. Professional Services hours are paid at a flat rate of $44.00-$44.00 per hour. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will commensurate with educational background and experience per the Faculty Negotiated Agreement (Article 4.00 Academic Employee Compensation).Part-time faculty may become eligible for healthcare and retirement benefits at the beginning of the second consecutive quarter of half-time or more employment at one or more Washington state institutions of higher education. Half-time is determined based on each institution's definition of full-time. Members may 'stack' workloads between other qualifying colleges. A part-time faculty member must qualify each quarter they teach, to maintain eligibility.
