The position is not eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.Job TypeClassifiedDepartmentCounty AttorneyAbout the PositionThe Civil Division of the Maricopa County Attorney's Office represents and defends Maricopa County, the various elected County officials, and employees in a variety of litigation matters in State and Federal Courts. This attorney position will be a part of the litigation team in the Civil Division defending these various litigation matters. The successful candidate will work with a team of litigators handling cases that include excessive force, wrongful death, and other police liability matters; state law tort claims ranging from trip and fall to road design and maintenance issue; prosecuting environmental and zoning enforcement matters; and other matters as necessary. The position requires collaborating with others in the Civil Division to bring about a successful resolution to the cases, as well as providing clients with advice on litigation strategies and assessments of liabilities.About the Office of the County AttorneyWe believe in integrity.
