Full Job Description:

Guirguis Law, P.A. is a faith-based practice law firm that serves the whole person, not just the legal problem. Our firm is currently seeking a Family Law attorney to join our multicultural team. We are looking for a sharp Family attorney who will zealously represent our clients in all areas of family law. You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. Responsibilities:

Represent clients in court proceedings as needed.

Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date.

Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation, and forming a strategy for a plan of action.

Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases.

Communicate with other attorneys and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process.

Qualifications:

4-year degree with a legal background.

Must have worked on family law issues for at least 3-5 years.

Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case.

Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association).

Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred.

Dependable and detail-oriented is a must.

4-8 years of family law experience preferred.

Management and litigation of family law cases, including child custody, support, contempt, and equitable distribution.

Drafting and filing of legal pleadings.

Discovery.

Meeting with clients.

Litigation experience required.

Duly licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
