Key Account Management : Building and maintaining strong relationships with key retail accounts at a national level. This involves understanding the customer's business needs, negotiating terms and agreements, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Market Analysis : Conducting market research and analysis to identify opportunities for growth and to stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences.

Forecasting and Planning : Collaborating with internal teams such as marketing, supply chain, and finance to develop accurate sales forecasts and strategic plans to meet sales targets.

Promotional Planning : Developing and executing promotional plans and trade marketing activities to drive product visibility, increase sales, and enhance brand awareness.

Contract Negotiation : Negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with retail customers to secure profitable agreements that align with company objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration : Working closely with internal cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, operations, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting : Tracking sales performance against targets, analyzing sales data, and preparing regular reports for management review. Identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Customer Service and Support : Providing excellent customer service and support to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive customer experience.

Product Knowledge : Maintaining a deep understanding of the company's products, features, benefits, and competitive advantages to effectively communicate value propositions to customers.

Travel : National Account Managers often travel to visit key retail customers, attend industry events, and participate in sales meetings and conferences.

Leadership and Team Management : In some cases, NAMs may be responsible for leading and managing a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve collective goals.
