Associate General Counsel - Litigation and Compliance Services

The Woodlands, Texas .Job ScopeThe Associate General Counsel, Litigation and Compliance Services, reports to the General Counsel, sits on the department's leadership team, and is responsible for managing the Company's litigation docket, driving the Company's ethics & compliance program, and supervising the professional staff that work in the litigation and compliance groups.As the Associate General Counsel, you will:Manage the litigation process from start to finish to protect and advocate the Company's legal positions;Conduct early case assessment and investigate matters as necessary, including reviewing applicable documents and interviewing potential witnesses;Interview and hire appropriate outside counsel for both litigation and compliance matters and ensure compliance with Huntsman's Guidelines for Outside Counsel;Actively manage and support outside counsel in the administration of each litigation matter;Promptly report on litigation matters as required by supervisor and senior management;Manage legacy litigation matters;Refine and further develop corporate wide systems for the identification and management of litigation risk;Respond to legal inquiries such as subpoenas or other regulatory demands;Provide advice and support to Division Counsel and their commercial attorneys;Drive all aspects of the global ethics & compliance program;Provide overall leadership and support throughout all aspects of the Company's global ethics & compliance program.Required Qualifications:You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position:JD degree with excellent academic credentials;Licensed to practice and in good standing with an applicable State bar;Eight to twelve years of meaningful litigation and related-risk management experience;First or second chair experience trying cases;Proven ability to develop and analyze litigation strategies;Understanding of key compliance areas;Some management experience preferred.Special Qualifications:Must be highly ethical and able to maintain confidentiality;Must be willing and able to travel globally 15% of your time;Must possess initiative and strong analytical skills;Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills;Must demonstrate judgment, tact, and diplomacy;Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functional groups;High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.Huntsman is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
