SummaryManages the operations and staff of Wendy’s restaurant, ensuring the execution of all Company policies, procedures, programs, and systems. Ensures objectives are reached in all areas while following all Company guidelines and compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ethical business practices. Provides leadership, direction, training, and development to subordinate managers and crew.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSales GoalsManages sales goals versus budget and prior year.Executes national and local marketing programs and new product roll-outs.Develops and implements plans to resolve unfavorable trends and enhance sales.Communicates sales performance and anticipated variances to District Manager and store management team.Responds to activities aimed at diverting store business.Builds sales by promoting customer satisfaction.Managing CostManages profit goals versus budget and prior year.Manages food, labor, and paper costs and other controllable expenses.Monitors crew prep, production, and procedures execution.Tracks waste levels using established procedures.Develops and implements plans to resolve unfavorable trends and enhance profits.Communicates profitability performance and anticipated variances to DM and store management team.Human ResourcesEnsures execution of the restaurant’s overall Human Resources programs.Processes crew applications, sets up interviews, and checks references.Maintains a system for the recruitment, development, recognition, and retention of store management and crew.Manages subordinate store management and crew employees to maximize retention.Utilizes approved interviewing tools to identify qualified applicants.Manages and resolves performance issues with subordinate managers and crew.Ensures proper staffing levels are achieved.Conducts quality, timely performance feedback and appraisals.Serves as a role model and trains store managers in leadership and problem-solving skills.Ensures compliance with all employment laws.Maintains a respectful work environment.Quality, Service, and CleanlinessAchieves and maintains Sparkle certification through Quality, Service, and Cleanliness standards.Trains on food safety procedures and ensures compliance with Health Department regulations.Monitors product quality and interacts with customers for feedback.Tracks service times and determines efficiency; takes corrective action as necessary.TrainingProvides proper training and development in compliance with the Company’s standards.Conducts timely and quality store orientations.Communicates and trains on operations changes and new products.Assists with new Assistant Manager training.Audits systems and work habits to ensure desired behaviors.OperationsEnsures store compliance with Company operating policies.Works with DM to establish store priorities and execute plans.Evaluates store performance and implements action plans for improvement.ControlsEnsures execution of policies for control of cash, property, product, and equipment.Identifies and resolves potential security issues.Ensures cash, food, labor, and wage guidelines are met.AdministrativeCompletes all administrative requirements and reports.Writes crew schedule to meet unit manager's objectives.Analyzes P&L and reviews with management team.Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.*REGULAR ATTENDANCE IS AN ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THIS POSITION*Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position supervises four to five subordinate supervisors and up to 30+ employees directly.QualificationsKnowledge of Company’s operating systems and procedures.Knowledge of P&L analysis and corrective measures.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMust attend GM Core class and Crew Interviewing Workshop within 90 days of hire.Physical DemandsMay require lifting up to 50 pounds and driving for company errands.Age RequirementsMust be 18 years old or older.Work EnvironmentThe General Manager must be able to stand for long periods and travel to various locations.
