As a member of the Assistant Leadership Committee, the Assistant Director of Operations with a focus on Rooms is a highly visible role with exposure to Senior and Corporate leadership. This position reports to the General Manager.The Assistant Director of Operations oversees hotel services including Front Desk operations, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and Security. Maximizes room revenues & occupancy by analyzing daily status rates and making adjustments accordingly while maintaining the highest brand standards. Manages large events and ensures high volume occupancy special requirements. Analyzes rate variances, monitors credit reports, and maintains close observation of daily house counts. Coordinates major projects such as renovations, capital expenditures, and equipment changes. Conducts weekly Rooms Divisions meetings, including monthly financial reviews with subordinate managers and senior hotel directors. Prepares revenue and occupancy forecasting and monitors labor expenses through the schedule approval process. Hires, manages, and trains subordinate managers and employees.DutiesResponsible for short- and long-term planning and management of all hotel operationsStaff training; Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and proceduresEnsure all hotel operations are done per Hyatt policies and proceduresEnsure proper staffing levels for customer service goalsDirect the implementation of payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory, and budget for all departmentsImplement procedures to increase guest and associate satisfactionMaintain Hyatt standards of service and ensure their implementationDevelop and recommend the budget, marketing plans, and objectives and manage within approved plansAbility to assimilate operational statistics quickly and see how they can be used to enhance the position of the propertyParticipate in MOD programDeal with special projectsResponsible for tracking inventory and ordering suppliesSchedule employees based on business needs and budget hours accordinglyQualifications4 years or more of experience in hotel operations (Hyatt experience preferred)Service-oriented style with professional skillsProven leadership skillsHotel/Hospitality degree an assetMust possess the following strengths: High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer serviceExperience developing standards and operating proceduresExperience supervising all room departmentsRequirementsValid Driver’s License to assist with ValetFull availability – Weekends, evenings, nights, holidaysDepartment head experience in Front Desk and HousekeepingHyatt colleagues work in an environment that demands exceptional performance yet reaps great rewards.
