Zelis is looking for a
Senior Software Engineer
to expand our engineering team. You will need to be a team player with an eagerness to learn, as you and your teammates will collaborate closely to enhance our mature, complex product. You will get to work with C#, ASP.Net, Rust, Microsoft SQL, Postgres, AWS technologies such as SQS, Lambda, RDS, ElastiCache, among other technologies.
As a
Senior Software Engineer
at Zelis, you’ll be part of an experienced team working on complex products. Your responsibilities include supporting software programming initiatives, enhancing existing systems, participating in code reviews, coordinating deployments, and exploring new technologies. You’ll apply best practices, mentor other engineers, and contribute to high-value features using languages like C#, ASP.Net, and Rust. We follow an Agile methodology in small software teams to consistently deliver high-quality software.
What You Will Do
Support software programming initiatives within an Agile team environmentSupport and enhance current systemsParticipate in Pull Request process for peer code reviewHelp coordinate and execute code deploymentsPrototype/explore new technology and articulate business valueDebug and optimize codeSupport the development of documentationParticipate in the software development lifecycleApply best practices and standard operating proceduresCreate simple solutions that solve complex problemsTake software from ideation to productionHelp lead the way in building complex software systemsPartner with business/product owners to help define the engineering work necessary to complete high-value features and initiativesHelp in the exploration and evaluation of new technologies and processes and mentor other EngineersRepresent the engineering point of view internally and externallyContribute as a senior resource of the engineering team by partaking in ownership of the software, systems, and processes
Required Experience
5+ years of software engineering/development experienceC#, ASP.Net, Git, .Net 6 and object-oriented designMust be able to write and read SQL queriesCloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and serverless technologiesExperience communicating architecture and design of new systems, or extending existing systemsAble to work independently as well as the ability to pair with other team members
Preferred Experience
Rust, C++, Python, Java, or RubyKnowledge/experience with REST APIKnowledge of best practices including code reviews, testing, coding standards, source control (git and GitHub), and CI/CDEntity frameworkAWS technologies such as SQS, Lambda, RDS, ElastiCache with PostgresFull stack development and DevOps
