Senior Product Manager – Driver Information Displays

Hybrid:

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Technical Center in Warren, MI or Mountain View, CA office three times per week, at minimum.

The Role

This Senior Product Manager position will be focused on Driver Information Displays. Driver Information Displays include driver-oriented content and indicators that provide drivers with critical information related to operating the vehicle. Among these are several gauges, including a speedometer, odometer, tachometer, oil pressure gauge, and fuel gauge, as well as various displays for vehicle status, ADAS systems, malfunctions, and warnings.

In this role, you will partner with Design, the Program teams, and the Brand teams to determine what cluster content is most appealing to each vehicle/target customer (mainstream vehicles, luxury vehicles, trucks, performance vehicles, etc.).

What You’ll Do

Lead and collaborate with a large set of stakeholders to identify, build, and test customer value propositions.

Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on customer needs and market trends.

Communicate complex subjects in a simple and straightforward way and is a skilled problem solver that utilizes data and experience to identify problems and solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure product goals and priorities alignment.

Conduct market research and competitive landscape analysis to identify market opportunities, track industry trends and potential threats to Driver Information Displays and related products.

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior product team members, sharing your wealth of knowledge and experience and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

Develop and manage product requirements through the creation of epics and decomps.

Create and maintain product backlogs and prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.

Work closely with Designers and Engineering to develop intuitive and compelling user interfaces, discover effective solutions, and then work together to deliver those solutions to market.

Define and track key metrics using OKRs and KPIs to measure product success and inform future decisions.

Communicate product updates, progress, and plans to stakeholders across the organization, including executives, customers, and partners.

Manage product launches, including developing go-to-market strategies and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.

Conduct post-launch analysis to evaluate product performance and identify areas for improvement.

Continuously iterate and improve the product based on user feedback, market trends, and business goals.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or Business

5+ years working on software development-based products as a Product Manager

Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product management (Agile, product lifecycle management, voice of the market, voice of the customer, integrating customer feedback loops)

Demonstrated ability to learn multiple functional areas of business – engineering, design, finance, sales, and/or marketing

Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative

Proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship

If located in California, this position will travel to Michigan 1x per month.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

7+ years working on software development-based products

2+ years of automotive experience with instrument gauges, driver information displays and/or head up display from a design, software development, engineering, or product management perspective

Master’s degree in a technical field (Engineering, Design, Computer Science, etc.) or Business

Experience working more broadly in vehicle infotainment space

Compensation : The salary range for this role is $98,900 to $158,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position. Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
