Sr. Accountant

Key Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account informationDocument financial transactions by entering account informationSummarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reportsSubstantiate financial transactions by auditing documentsMaintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and proceduresReconcile financial information by completing database backupsVerify, allocate, post and reconcile transactionsAnalyze financial information and summarize financial statusPrepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedulePrepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account informationComplete internal and external audits to ensure complianceSupport month-end and year-end close processMaintain the Fixed Asset and CIP systems, and perform physical asset inventory auditsProvide monthly tracking and month-end accruals and reporting for: Prepaids, Scrap Shipments, Repairs & Maintenance, Freight, Utilities, and Other ReceivablesHandle various P&L & Balance Sheet monthly closing tasks, including journal entry preparations and reconciliations of internal booksReconcile all Intercompany accounts, including Payroll, Wire/ACH payments, etc. each monthPerform banking account maintenance and monthly reconciliationPerform other duties as may be assignedJob Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Master’s Degree a plus2+ years of Accounting/Finance experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment or consumer products company preferredKnowledge of income statement preparation, balance sheet analysis, and capital project spending. Working knowledge of GAAP and internal control proceduresStrong proficiency level in Microsoft Office appsExperience with ERP, Fixed Asset, Contract Management, AS400, and MAPICSDetail-oriented and thoroughTeam player, who is also a self-starter with the ability to work independently and show initiativeStrong oral and written communication skills
