Senior Platform Engineer
who will bring hands-on subject-matter expertise with Go and the Kubernetes API. You will report to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure and will be responsible for building components of a self-service platform that allows product developers to independently operate Calendly’s services.A day in the life of a Senior Platform Engineer at Calendly
On a typical day, you will be working on:Designing and building tools and applications to extend Calendly’s infrastructure platformEvaluating and guiding the development of applications for your teamExercising expertise in cloud infrastructure concepts and patternsFostering a collaborative environment of learning and knowledge disseminationWhat do we need from you?
8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and/or software developmentCreative problem-solving, a keen eye for detail, and ability to deliver high quality solutions to complex issuesStrong Go (Golang) development experience; especially writing APIs to build, orchestrate and manage cloud infrastructureExpert knowledge of patterns and principles for designing and implementing cloud native applications on Kubernetes, such as Controllers and OperatorsExperience building applications on Temporal a plusExperience designing, building, and running highly-available production applicationsAn understanding of the Linux operating system, and systems engineering fundamentalsTechnical knowledge of cloud infrastructure (especially GCP), distributed systems, and reliability practicesWorking knowledge of software and infrastructure tuning and observability (especially Datadog)Availability for participation in on-call rotation, ensuring prompt and effective responses to business-critical alerts outside of regular working hoursAuthorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this timeWhat’s in it for you?
