Job SummaryThe Division AVP of Infection Prevention provides direction for and management of Infection Prevention coordinators, managers, and the Infection Prevention and Control Department. The Division AVP is responsible for the healthcare entities within the region.

Job Responsibilities

Establish the mission, vision, planning, direction, assessment, and leadership for effective infection prevention and control programs for hospitals and outpatient services.

Serve as infection control officer as delegated by Division Chief Medical Officer or Epidemiologist.

Provide strategic and operational direction for the framework of an integrated approach to Infection Prevention and Control program.

Direct and coordinate division-wide infection prevention and control program through a variety of activities involving medical staff and personnel.

Provide administrative direction and organization for all epidemic investigations related to healthcare-associated or community-acquired infections.

Coordinate, develop, and provide education regarding disease transmission and practices for infection prevention and control.

Provide leadership and consultation to medical staff and leadership.

Coordinate and participate in reporting of infection control information to appropriate committees.

Direct performance improvement process and reporting for infection prevention and control.

Coordinate medical and hospital research projects regarding infection prevention and control issues.

Manage human resources within areas of responsibility.

Promote professional development of self and staff.

Provide direction for fiscal management for department operations.

Provide administrative direction and leadership in emergency preparedness related to infection prevention and control.

Maintain a working knowledge of compliance with rules, regulations, and recommendations from relevant agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC) REQUIREDBachelor's Degree requiredMaster’s degree in a healthcare clinical or healthcare administration-related field highly preferred.

Experience:Minimum of 5 years current experience in short-term acute care setting.Minimum of 3 current years experience in infection prevention and control.Minimum 2 years of management experience.MUST have current experience managing multiple facilities.
