Anything less just wouldn’t be Proper.We are seeking a Director of Travel Industry Sales to join our team. This key role is responsible for maximizing sales revenue from the Corporate, Entertainment & Consortia segments as well as achieving & maintaining the department’s KPIs, tracking systems, databases, and reports. Our ideal candidate must represent the sales department both internally and externally in a professional manner in accordance with Austin Proper Hotel standards.Duties/Responsibilities

Meet required individual sales goals by maximizing revenue from Corporate, Entertainment & Consortia segmentsMeet KPIs as set by the Director of Sales and MarketingProduce regular sales productivity reports as requestedHandle sales reservation requests, traces, and coordinationProactively solicit existing and new clients from designated market segmentsMaintain positive guest and client relations at all timesFollow up on the progress of booked business and key account performanceAssist in developing and executing the team’s projects to increase sales activity, volume, and profitManage RFP submissions and tracking (including coordinating rate loading with the revenue department) for the Sales departmentConduct sales trips, attend trade shows, site inspections, client entertainment, and FAMs as requiredWork with Events and Sales Teams to manage programming and executionMust be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing; identifying, and solving problems as necessaryMaintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standardsEducation and Qualifications

3 Years of experience in a Business/Leisure Travel Manager at a luxury hotel with a travel industry network5 Years Hospitality experienceCollege degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferredExperience in training, coaching or leadershipHotel experience requiredKnowledge of Delphi and HMS requiredAbility to enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point-of-sale systemsPossess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanorAbility to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and have a high level of attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skills in EnglishAbility to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamworkRequired Skills/Abilities
