We are looking for dedicated individuals to join us in engineering solutions for our customers.We are currently seeking a full-time Quality Engineer for our Jet Products location in Kearny Mesa. This position is for the first shift (6:30am – 4:00pm), Monday – Friday, and works based on a 9/80 schedule.The expected salary range for this position is $91,000 - $109,000 annually.What does the job involve?The Quality Engineer maintains the quality standards and consistency of products. Reviews customer purchase orders, drawings, quality standards, tolerances, and engineering changes. Creates and maintains quality-engineering requirements. Assists in developing procedures, documents, and monitors Quality Management Systems as it relates to customer and regulatory requirements. Analyzes and measures manufacturing processes to ensure they achieve company quality, cost, and schedule objectives.What will my responsibilities include?Ensures compliance with customer requirements, reviews inspection reports versus customer requirements.Develops and recommends departmental policies, procedures, and programs to ensure departmental effectiveness in meeting assigned customer requirements.Ability to compile complex data packages for customer review and approval, including FAIR’s, FPA’s, PPAP’s, APQP’s, PFMEA’s, MSA’s, etc.Develops and suggests methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.May compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.Maintains complex quality records per customer requirements.Studies, analyzes, develops, documents, and monitors quality processes.Determines quality improvement plans relevant to manufacturing and inspection processes.Reviews and analyzes customer/purchase order requirements and collaborates with the team to prioritize quality efforts.Analyzes customer concerns, initiates root cause analysis, and implements corrective action activities.Reviews contracts and purchase orders to ensure quality specifications and requirements are communicated.Utilizes Six Sigma problem-solving techniques and advises appropriate management on successful resolution recommendations.Ability to interact professionally at all levels in the organization.Acts as the primary quality contact with assigned customers.Demonstrates initiative and coordinates action to improve overall quality.Ability to follow written and verbal directions and complete work independently.Participates in cross-functional teams to ensure quality methods are implemented and maintained.Supports and guides efforts to continuously improve company performance related to quality systems, cost, and delivery requirements.Supports and maintains the continuous improvement process by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing manufacturing processes to drive prevention initiatives.What key skills and experience do I need?Ability to work with quality inspection tools.Familiarity with personal computers, answering telephones, and utilizing computerized spreadsheets to conduct analysis.Use of desktop publishing software.What qualifications should I have?Education:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.ASQ certifications a plus.Experience:3+ years of experience in the quality and/or manufacturing industry.Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.Must be detail-oriented and a team player.Experience with ISO, Six Sigma, AS9100, and statistical process controls a plus.Why Join Senior Aerospace Ketema?Joining Senior means not only a rewarding career with a tight-knit and collaborative team, but you will also enjoy a competitive compensation package that includes a market-led base salary, and a comprehensive benefits package along with wellness benefits, employee recognition program, matching 401k plan, paid vacation, flexible hours, employee wellness activities, tuition reimbursement, and community involvement initiatives.If an offer of employment is made, it will be contingent upon passing all of the following: Drug Test, Background Check, ITAR, and U.S. Export Compliance Screening.Equal Opportunity Employer: minority/female/disability/veteranAccess to our facility (and, therefore, employment) is restricted under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, U.S. refugees, asylees, or temporary residents under amnesty provisions [as defined in 8 USC 1324b(a)(3)] and properly licensed foreign persons.
