Job Summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing a variety of routine general accounting support tasks in an accounting department.Verifies accuracy of invoices and other routine accounting documents or records. Updates and maintains accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., accounts receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers, payrolls, receipts, accounts payable).Reconciles records with employees and management, external vendors, or customers.Assists with reviews Travel and Expense reports.Will interact with traveler and/or admin to ensure compliance with processes and procedures.Assists with actions to resolve discrepancies and may investigate questionable data. Contacts are typically with individuals within own department and occasionally outside own organization.Performs routine general accounting support tasks in an accounting department.Verifies computer printouts for propriety of accounting transactions.Notifies operating personnel and makes corrections when necessary.Ensures appropriate signature authority on a variety of routine accounting and/or financial documents.Prepares analysis of less complex general ledger accounts.Maintains accounting files and records. Enters data into computer system using defined computer programs and established procedures.Compiles data and prepares a variety of routine reports.Responds to written and/or verbal inquiries from internal and/or external contacts.May be responsible for all aspects of bookkeeping functions.Provide administrative support to the accounting and travel team members.Maintains excel files and tracks activities for a variety of accounts.Performs data downloads from the accounting system, prepares reports, and formats the data.May support internal and external audits by providing document research.Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating practices and procedures.Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned or required.Job QualificationsTypically requires a high school diploma and two or more years of progressive experience in an accounting department or a related field. May substitute additional experience in lieu of education.Must have knowledge of computer operations and applications and proficiency with spreadsheets.Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of problems.Must have good communication, computer, documentation, and interpersonal skills.Must be able to work independently and as part of a team and capable of effectively interacting with professional staff.Job Type: Full-Time HourlySalary range: 41,290 - 61,375
