Qualifications

Five – seven years’ experience in an outsourced manufacturing environment (Electro-mechanical / Electronics manufacturing)Minimum of 10+ years’ experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within Operations, Supply Chain or similar organization for a rapidly growing enterprise solutions companyHistory of hiring, developing, motivating and mentoring a team capable of setting and meeting ambitious goalsStrong executive presence with the ability to set vision and strategy for Operations and lead the organization through large scale changeAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulationsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general publicAbility to diagnose common customer needs and issues, and to translate those needs into actionable solutionsOutstanding organizational and problem-solving skills with a focus on process and solution and outcome-oriented frameworksStrong Operations and Supply Management skillsMicrosoft Office Suite (including Microsoft Access)Knowledge and experience of MRP systems (planning and forecasting)Knowledge of Business System processesKnowledge of Electronics and Electro-mechanical manufacturingBachelor's (Required)Chicago, IL 60606: Relocate before starting work (Required)Responsibilities

This position has oversight of and management responsibility of Operations & Supply Chain activities related to product manufacturing, operational repair services, logistics, working capital management and lead the Operational Excellence initiativesThis position is also accountable for leading the talent development within the operations functionThe DVP of Operations will be responsible for oversight of all aspects of the Business Unit Operations, from supporting production objectives to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets, to the deployment of both tactical and strategic Operational and Supply Chain initiativesLead manufacturing, global supply management, distribution, and repair operations, to achieve the BU revenue and profit plan through Operational Excellence initiatives of cost reduction, quality improvement, operational cost reduction, new product introduction, acquisition integration and outsourcingAssemble and communicate business level reports and presentations related to Operations ManagementConsolidate Business Unit performance reporting on shipments, working capital improvement and material, VAVE and other Operational Excellence savingsNegotiate short and long-term agreements with strategic suppliers to promote guaranteed cost reductions through productivity improvements and reducing Non-Value Add elements in the Supply ChainDevelop and maintain a Make / Buy decision strategy for key categories of spend, factoring in major relevant factors to ensure best approach in support of the product portfolio and operational improvementsSupport the development and deployment of Strategic Initiatives across the Business UnitIdentify Lean Manufacturing / Operational Excellence initiatives for Product and Operational cost improvements for the Business UnitDrive process improvement and cost reductions by using continuous improvement toolsTeach others to use continuous improvement methodologies to drive out wasteLead environmental, health and safety programs and dealing with regulatory agencies on related matters, as requiredSupport in Due Diligence initiatives of target acquisitions for the Business UnitEstablish goals and KPIs that deliver real-time actionable information across Operations Engineering, Test Engineering, Production builds, Supply Chain and LogisticsResponsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing strategy and readiness to support business objectivesEstablish metrics, measurements, tools to improve efficiency and communication; ensuring the requirements of the customer are met, optimizing product value, reducing cost and ensuring on time deliveryChair monthly operations/quality review meetingManagement of functional team leaders within Telular BU: Operations & Test Engineering, Purchasing, LogisticsPromotes and leads a culture of respect, integrity, and accountabilityBenefits
