Job Summary

Responsible for providing legal advice and recommendations for action to executives and management within a variety of business units regarding matters of various complexities (basic to intermediate) which have or may have a sizable dollar impact on business activities and operations. In addition:Demonstrate expertise in technology transactions, product counseling, intellectual property, marketing, privacy and security laws, as well as the capacity to be a generalist and learn new areas of law and legal skills quickly while providing end-to-end product counseling.Structure and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements in support of Walgreens’ Digital and Data Analytics/Insights Businesses, including master service agreements, supplier agreements, data licensing/integration and supply arrangements.Partner with teams across Walgreens Digital Product and Data Analytics teams and close external partners that are building, deploying, and operating technology for use by customers and patients.Work cross-functionally with the commercial, product, marketing, privacy, security and technology teams to bring our digital product and service offerings to market.Understand Walgreens digital product and service offerings, technology, security/data protection systems and policies, and standard commercial and other contracts, to provide a foundation for providing legal support throughout Walgreens Digital teams.Maintain an understanding of Walgreens businesses, technology and product goals, and challenges to establish and implement intellectual property portfolio strategies that facilitate those goals, capture investments in innovation and minimize legal risk, working closely with external counsel.Job Responsibilities

Primarily leverages knowledge of legal specialty in providing counsel as it builds its knowledge of the business context in which it operates.Review and prepare legal documents prior to presentation to management for execution to ensure accurate expression of the legal content.May receive specific direction from management or more senior law professionals as to the outcomes, process and schedules expected.Collaborates with the business units that it serves in order to achieve corporate objectives and mitigate unnecessary business risk.Research legal principles and precedents, engage and manage outside counsel, draft legal documents, gather relevant case related information using multiple sources and methods, provide work guidance to other professional, paraprofessional and support staff in developing solutions to problems presented.Maintain currency and fluency in the legal and business trends that could impact those business units within Walgreens that it serves.About Walgreens And WBA

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and at least 5 years of post-bar attorney legal work experience in a combination of law firm and corporate settings.Required licensure to practice law in at least one state.Required Illinois bar membership or active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.Preferred Qualifications

Able to perform in a fast-paced environment where prioritization and ability to work independently are a requirement for success.
