Overview
Open due to internal movement. Senior Accountant role with our Princeton client. 4 years of experience in public accounting or month-end close preferred. CPA and/or Master’s in Accounting preferred.
Responsibilities
Execute the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
Perform analytical functions related to the general ledger month-end close.
Prepare monthly invoices and ensure timely and accurate settlements.
Research and analysis of merchant energy activity and fuel-related costs in the CAISO Market.
Utilize financial reporting software to create, maintain, and update reporting templates and data queries.
Prepare and maintain documentation to support financial statement assertions and the performance of internal control over financial reporting.
Prepare quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Compile financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules.
Work with internal/external groups to ensure reported financial results are completed timely/accurately in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Assist with explaining to management the financial performance of the projects.
Support ad hoc requests from external auditors and key stakeholders within the organization.
Prepare financial schedules, respond to data requests, and provide support for audit selections.
Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
CPA and/or Master’s in accounting preferred.
4 years of experience in general accounting.
Public accounting experience preferred.
SAP Experience.
Understanding and application of GAAP and internal control processes.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including performing financial and analytical computations in Excel.
Knowledge of ERP accounting systems.
Energy industry experience, specifically in the CAISO Market is preferred.
