Designs, develops, tests, delivers, maintains and improves business applications as a member of a team, works across full-stack through entire software development lifecycleParticipates in Agile sprints and ceremonies; supports rapid iteration and developmentTranslates user requirements into software requirementsBuilds code to specifications and standardsCoaching teammatesApplies creative problem solving that bring software designs to lifeBuilds apps, APIs and data solutions to drive projectsPromotes agile principles and methodologyParticipates in ideation and brainstorming sessions to devise creative and disruptive digital solutionsPerforms various investigative "Spikes" in order to mitigate technical uncertainty and riskAssists in the development of automated test harnesses as necessary to ensure delivery of high quality codeUpdates progress daily through the tracking tool (Jira) or Kanban boardCompletes and ensures completion of any required documentation required e.g. deployment, maintenance, support and business needsParticipate in the weekly Look Ahead meetings to assist the Product Owner to refine the Product Backlog including providing initial estimatesApply disciplined coding practices to enable agility and delivery of high quality codeSkills And Knowledge

Expert knowledge in .Net or another OOP Framework (Abstract class, Interface, overriding overloading Dictionary, Array list)Expert knowledge in SQL Server, writing complex queries and joins, working knowledge relational datasets, Stored ProceduresExpert knowledge Rest & Web APIExperienced in web development - React or Angular FrameworkUnderstanding of Cloud native developmentNice to have knowledge of Python, Java SpringbootUnderstanding of batch scheduler like CA WA and workflow manager such as AirflowExperience with Agile/Scrum methodology, Behavior Driven Development, and CI/CDStrong team player who can maintain good coordination in Agile teamNice to have Experience in Extracting, Transforming and Loading (ETL) data using InformaticaA lifelong Learner Mindset – even if you don’t know some of the above technologies, if you are an experienced engineer, a self-starter, ready to work hard, learn and grow, you’ve come to the right team.Education And Experience

University degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology5+ years of work experience in Software developmentIn-depth knowledge of object oriented programing and design patterns.Understanding of finance and Capital Market would be a plus but not a requirementAbility to develop and maintain constructive professional relationships with the business stakeholders and other support/control groupsAbility to work independently as well as part of a team in an international setting.About Manulife And John Hancock

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.Primary LocationCAN, Ontario, Toronto, 200 Bloor Street EastSalary range is expected to be between$107,730.00 CAD - $200,070.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
