I'm partnering with the CFO at a highly acquisitive cannabis organization, seeking an Accounting Manager with a background in public accounting to join their team. As the Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal part in managing various aspects of corporate accounting and financial operations. If you are adaptable and passionate about the cannabis industry, they invite you to be a part of their innovative team.DescriptionLead and oversee centralized corporate accounting functions, including leases, payroll, stock compensation, intangibles, and intercompany oversight.Collaborate closely with the team to execute the month-end close process, reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analyses for accuracy and completeness.Analyze monthly financial results at both entity and consolidated levels, providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making in our high-growth environment.Supervise a dedicated team, guiding them in preparing comprehensive monthly reports for business partners and stakeholders.Provide mentorship and training to staff accountants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.Ensure strict adherence to U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting guidelines, maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and transparency.Consolidate entries and prepare detailed rollforwards for financial statements, facilitating a clear understanding of financial performance.Develop and optimize accounting practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.Act as the primary contact for external auditors, addressing queries and providing necessary documentation promptly.Prepare internal reports as required and handle additional responsibilities as directed by the Director of Financial Operations.ProfileBachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.CPA is a plus.6-10 years of direct experience, with a strong preference for a background in public accounting.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.Strong problem-solving skills and effective time management abilities.In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC, and/or IFRS rules and regulations.Ability to initiate, execute, and meticulously document tasks from start to finish.Job OfferCompetitive compensation package10-15% bonus structure10% RSUsStrong benefits401k matchUnlimited PTOHybrid working flexibilityFast growing companyAmple room to progress your career quicklyHighly visible role, partnering with the Controller and CFOMentorship from the senior leadershipApply now and your resume will be considered within 24 hours!
