The primary purpose of the Assistant Director of Sales (ADOS) position is supporting the Director of Sales & Events with the day-to-day management of the sales office combined with the generation of revenue through direct sales activities for assigned market segment of the hotel.Work Performed
The ADOS will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the brand and management company’s policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, assisting, and directing activities; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Conduct and/or participate in the required company standard meetings, including but not limited to daily stand-up meeting, daily business review, weekly Sales Meeting, and weekly one-on-ones with the sales/catering managers, and Director of Sales.Assist the Director of Sales & Events with training and motivating sales managers and hotel staff with their job performance and knowledge, including general group sales principals, group function requirements, rate quotes, site management, sales call preparation and proposal/contract development.In the absence of the Director of Sales & Events, attend in-house management meetings and manage the day to day responsibilities of the sales office.Contribute consistent monthly sales production revenue and contribute significantly to the hotel’s production goals. Develop and implement SMART Plans for all direct sales market segments. Track and communicate progress.Conduct prospecting & solicitation activities, including outside sales calls to cultivate existing customers and accounts and develop new business.Ensure systems are established and in place to respond to customer needs within a defined response period. These may include, but are not limited to: telephone inquiries, bids, proposals, confirmation of bookings, follow up communication, etc.Develop and maintain a clean funnel and activity tracing within the assigned sales system to ensure all sales activity is defined, recorded, traced, and updated in an organized manner.Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.Qualifications
Required Prior Experience:
At least five (5) years of hotel or industry related experiencePreferred Prior Experience
A minimum of three (3) years of hotel catering, group sales or event servicing experienceRequired Education
Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hotel Restaurant, or related field.Preferred Education
Minimum of five years hotel catering sales and event services experience, culinary related field, or the equivalent amount of managerial industry experience.Required Technology
Demonstrated experience with industry specific sales programs including Microsoft Office, Delphi.fdc, and/or CI/TY, particularly in detailing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)Preferred Technology
