The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the refinement and execution of accounting processes and accounting process strategy to support our overall accounting function. This role will require broad spectrum accounting involvement, including assisting with day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities, internal control execution, drafting of technical accounting and policy documents, financial reporting procedures, and driving accounting process automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering on key monthly and quarterly close duties and effectively communicating processes both internally with relevant stakeholders and externally with Oklo vendors. The ability to stay organized and deliver on key accounting close milestones will be a critical success factor.Specific responsibilities may include:
Driving efficiencies and automation across key accounting cycles such as payroll, procure to pay, and order to cashTracking and reconciliation of various project/vendor costsPerforming maintenance of key accounting process tools and ensuring project management boards are up to dateMonitoring accounting standards updatesAssisting in the preparation/drafting of monthly and quarterly financial disclosures, including performing an organized and detailed tieout to supporting documentationLiase with SOX compliance specialists and external independent audit group to ensure efficient coordination of routine audit testing proceduresAssisting with Quarterly DOE audit compliance requirements such as grant fund and cost share trackingPreparation of quarterly disclosure checklistsTracking and booking employee travel and expense reimbursementsWorking across the business to support our accounting activityBuilding strong networks and relationships with government agencies such as the DOE and financial institutionsProcessing payments to vendorsAssisting with the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the organization's accounting processes, including the identification and implementation of new accounting toolsDeveloping credibility for the accounting function by delivering upon the monthly close timeline and helping deliver on key compliance requirementsParticipating in a variety of special accounting research projects and communicating findings to propose appropriate accounting treatmentConforming with and abiding by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructionsConforming with all safety rules and using all appropriate safety equipmentPerforming other duties as assignedSupporting the firm's transition from QuickBooks to NetSuiteCompetencies:
