Ascend Learning is hiring a Junior Software Quality Engineer to work within the technology and operations quality engineering team.WHERE YOU’LL WORK

This position will work a hybrid schedule from our Leawood, Kansas office location.How You’ll Spend Your Time

Participate in all phases of testing cycles, including functional, integration, regression, load and performance testing.Participate in daily standups, iteration planning, backlog grooming, bug triaging etc.Create and execute functional and API testing where applicable and log bugs in Jira.Adhere to quality standards/process, best practice documents and time schedules provided.Collaborate with core team and scrum team to ensure timely delivery of project.Effectively participate with team members, software developers, scrum master, business team during testing life cycle to troubleshoot test failures in the various test environments.Work with team members to proactively identify, communicate functional and usability issues and risks that impede the execution and/or success of the project.Provide status updates to QE Lead/manager and core team in a timely fashion.What You'll Need

Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferably Computer Science.Must be able to work well with others in a dynamic and interactive team setting.Knowledge of software testing methodology - Analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently after an initial period for building proficiency.Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.Any experience with Jira, Selenium is a bonus.Knowledge of browsers, client-server architectures, Web, Mobile-Web.Database knowledge and experience in writing basic SQL queries is a huge plus.Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodology.Benefits
