Job Overview:Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for procedural and system controls, problem solving and teaching. Maintains all necessary QC, QA and documents required by accreditation agencies. Will assist physician tableside with all invasive procedures and post-processing and may participate on call.Qualifications:Required

:Completion of an approved Radiological Technology Program that meets the requirements set by the ASRT and the New Jersey Certification BoardTwo years experience as a staff technologist with consideration given for less experienceCertifications and Licenses Required:Must be licensed by the New Jersey State DEP and registered by the ARRTBCLS and ACLS required for the Cardiac Catheterization LabScheduling Requirements:DayPer DiemEssential Functions:Performs diagnostic procedures in a timely, efficient manner according to policy and proceduresDirects activities toward full compliance and accreditation with ACR, MQSA, New Jersey State DEP and TJCExplains procedures to patients and their families/caregiversAssists the physician with procedures in a competent and professional mannerPrepares the room, equipment, special supplies, trays and contrast materials as needed for the patient and procedureAdheres to all Radiation Safety requirements, including the use of radiation protective devices at all timesDocuments the necessary pertinent information as required including but not limited to clinical information, birth date, and to females of reproductive age, if they may be pregnant and the date of their LMPReviews patient charts, scripts, referrals for physician order and diagnosisFollows up with provider of care if information is not clearPost Processing in a timely fashion for physician to interpret imagesAssists with clerical duties and escorting of patientsActively participates in unit based/other organization in-services and workshopsContributes toward improving cost effectiveness and productivityReflects commitment to building a supportive work environment and maintains a positive attitude at the work place and toward the jobRWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer
