We simplify the rental journey through an engaging user experience and data-driven innovations.At Rent., our mission is to simplify the experience of connecting people & properties.We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to create delightful user experiences and advanced features for users on our B2B and B2C facing WordPress sites. As a Full-Stack Engineer, you will develop and maintain the front and back-end of several high-traffic WordPress sites. Primary internal partners include the SEO and B2B marketing teams. This role will also work with external development agencies on particular projects or sites as needed.Responsibilities
In any given project, all front and back-end development requirements are implemented at the highest level of quality and attention to detail.Projects are completed to expectations and are delivered on time.WordPress codebases are optimized for performance and technical SEO as well as front-end user experience.Plugins and other codes are updated in a timely manner.All WordPress sites are secure, up to date, and thoroughly protected against attacks.Site monitoring and reporting processes have been implemented to improve quality assurance and documentation of codebases.The user experience is delightful and seamless across various devices and screen sizes on all WordPress instances.Colleagues and collaborators are given accurate and timely updates on the status of projects.What We Need From YOU
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a full-stack WordPress engineer with a strong portfolio showcasing custom themes and plugins.Advanced proficiency in PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, and CSS.Portfolio demonstrating an expert level of proficiency in front-end and back-end projects.7+ years of WordPress theme development, including custom post types, custom fields, and template hierarchy.5+ years of backend development work with experience in Apache, PHP configurations, MySQL optimization, MainWP, Updraft and familiarity with server-side performance and security best practices.5+ years’ experience in front-end development with at least 3 years of experience working on responsive or mobile-first sites.3+ years’ experience with version control systems (e.g., GIT) and code collaboration tools and utilizing GIT to deploy and perform updates to WordPress sites.Knowledge of web security best practices and techniques.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex front-end and back-end issues.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Attention to detail, commitment to quality, and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences.Preferred Experience
Experience with Contently or Cloudflare preferred but not required.Experience working with front-end build tools and preprocessors as well as CMS platforms and frameworks.Experience with MySQL databases and working directly with data utilized by WordPress themes, plugins & tools.Knowledge of SEO best practices and web accessibility standards.Integration expertise with internal and third-party services and APIs.Rent.
