Job Summary

The Manager, Financial Reporting will be an integral role within the Corporate Finance Group, and will be responsible for assisting in the GAAP reporting for the Insurance Segment operations. This role will be critical in supporting the strategic plan of the future of the Corporate Finance department – including creating more efficient processes and reporting - for a significant and growing operation within Arch.

Responsibilities

Oversee quarterly balance sheet and income statement close activities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.Manage the preparation of Management’s Discussion and Analysis for quarterly reporting.Prepare fluctuation analyses of Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements for Insurance segment.Oversee analytical variance analysis and business unit balance sheet reviews.Work closely with key business partners to facilitate an efficient quarterly close to meet reporting deadlines.Develop process enhancements, including implementing additional technology solutions to further improve efficiencies.Oversee premium receivable aging analyses, commissions and bad debt reserves ensuring adherence to accounting policy and review for accuracy.Manage the team focusing on goals, learning and development.Support Corporate Finance department with the external audit requests.Prepare material for the board of directors of both the public parent and the insurance group holding company.Manage ad-hoc requests for financial information from various corporate and business partners.Manage adherence to internal controls and applied awareness of risk areas.Display teamwork, integrity and leadership.Maintain adequate focus on personal growth; proactively seek relevant education and training.Work collaboratively and develop strong relationships with business units, operational executives, and managers.Other duties, as requested.

Education And Experience

Dynamic and motivated individual, capable of handling complex structured tasks that require close attention to timing and detail, as well as unplanned projects and challenges that require effective and unique solutions, often in a compressed timeframe.Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Ability to apply accounting policy and standards.Knowledge of 21st century finance and accounting software, tools and best practices.Ability to effectively communicate analysis and conclusions to financial information end-users.7 years of North American property and casualty insurance industry experience, international experience (e.g., Lloyds) a plus.Management experience is required.MBA, SEC reporting and public accounting background are preferred but not required.Finance or Accounting degree required.Certified Public Accountant a plus.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$79,900 - $107,900/year

Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future.
