Position DescriptionA UI/UX designer is responsible for creating user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces for digital products. Their job is to understand user needs and design interfaces that are intuitive, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.Your future duties and responsibilities

User Research: Conducting user research to understand user needs, preferences, and behaviors. This involves gathering feedback, conducting surveys, and analyzing user data.Wireframing and Prototyping: Creating wireframes and prototypes to visualize and test different design concepts. This helps in validating design ideas and gathering user feedback early in the design process.Interaction Design: Designing interactive elements such as buttons, menus, and navigation systems. This involves creating smooth and seamless user experiences through the use of animations, transitions, and micro-interactions.Visual Design: Creating visually appealing designs that align with the brand identity and user expectations. This includes selecting color palettes, typography, and graphics to create a cohesive and engaging user interface.Usability Testing: Conducting usability tests to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the interface design. This helps in identifying any usability issues and making necessary improvements.Collaborating with Developers: Working closely with developers to ensure the successful implementation of the design. This involves providing design specifications, assets, and ongoing support during the development process.Continuous Improvement: Keeping up with the latest design trends, industry standards, and emerging technologies to continuously improve the user experience. This may involve conducting competitor analysis, attending design conferences, and participating in design communities.Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

Bachelor's degree in computer science, design, or a related field.Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.Knowledge of responsive design and mobile-first development.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

Experience within low code/no code platforms such as PowerPlatform.Knowledge or experience with Section 508 Compliance.Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.CGI anticipates accepting applications for this position through 6/7/2024.CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications.
