About The Partnership Team
We’re a startup within a startup. We incubate new products and business models to make sure Thumbtack continues to be the most innovative marketplace for homeowners and professionals to get work done. Our team is self-contained and cross-functional between engineering, product, design, analytics, growth, and marketing. This structure allows us to move fast and experiment with new ideas rapidly.
Our mission is to broaden Thumbtack’s reach and engage with our target customer through partnerships – diversifying our customer acquisition channel mix and boosting our brand awareness and trust. We are also responsible for maintaining and growing existing lines of business that were previously created within this group which represent a significant percentage of overall revenue.

About The Role
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you’ll focus on bringing the Thumbtack Partnership Team’s vision to life. You’ll collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to execute on a broad range of projects. This could include building new full stack features to improve the experience of our partners or architecting infrastructure (public facing Partner APIs) from ground up to enable us to get to our vision of building a self-serve marketplace for our partners.
Responsibilities
Become the subject matter expert in partnership and growth technologyDrive engineering projects to completion, with a tenacious focus on the business impact of those projects. Skilled at prioritizing tasks to deliver on goals with a sense of urgencySolve tough technical problems at any level of the stack, and be persistent in getting to the solution, whether it involves back-end, or infrastructure workWork collaboratively with cross-functional teams to plan and execute on engineering projectsWhat You’ll Need

In our stack, we mainly use Go, Python, Scala, Php, React, Swift, Kotlin, and JavaYou have solid experience building software on top of relational databases such as Postgres or MySQLYou know what it means to write high quality, maintainable, testable code, and you enjoy doing itYou can break down complex problems rigorously and understand the tradeoffs necessary to deliver great, impactful productsYou’re curious, you’re data-driven, you love to ask questions, and you think critically about problemsBonus Points if You Have
Experience or knowledge in growth or partnership domainsDemonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environmentThumbtack is a virtual-first company, meaning you can live and work from any one of our approved locations across the United States, Canada or the Philippines. For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $165,000 - $205,000. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $140,000 - $180,000. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
