Position DescriptionCGI is looking for a Java Developer. This position is located in our Pittsburgh, PA or Cleveland, Ohio office, however a hybrid working model is acceptable.Candidate must have an agile mindset and should have 6+ years of good hands-on experience with Java development.Your future duties and responsibilities:Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle and include the below skillsets:Programming languages:
Must have Java or Python; both are preferred. Knowledge of JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, Vite, etc.) is a plus.Databases:
Must have SQL/Microsoft SQL experience. MongoDB/non-relational experience is a plus.General Tech:
Microservice Architecture, REST API architecture.Unit Testing Experience:
Must have written unit tests in a framework such as JUnit or any of the JavaScript frameworks or Python frameworks. Understanding of Test Driven Development or Shift Left is a plus.Other:
CI/CD is not mandatory, but experience with Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Openshift is a bonus.Write well-designed, testable, efficient code.Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications.Prepare and produce releases of software components.Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.Required Qualifications to be successful in this role:Proven hands-on Software Development experience.Proven working experience in Java development.Hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).Experience in the Spring Framework.Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.Compensation:CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications.
