Job Summary
The Comcast Cooperative Educational Program (Co-op) immerses students into the daily operations of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. Designed for students whose curriculum allows for a cooperative learning track, the co-op becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. Throughout the experience, there is an opportunity for exposure to mentorship and professional development while having some fun along the way.
Job Description
The Workforce Analytics team is responsible for analyzing employee data to provide stakeholders actionable insights for their workforce planning. This includes analyses related to talent movements, employee turnover, performance metrics, etc. The Co-op will assist the Workforce Analytics team building end-to-end analytics leveraging cutting-edge statistical and analytical techniques and communicating the findings with the help of visualizations to stakeholders. The work will be under general supervision of Workforce Analytics team and may require training and detailed instructions for assigned tasks.
Intern Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Analyze and generate insights from large data sets and clearly communicate resultsCreate front-end data visualizations that succinctly tell a story based on analysisWilling to learn and apply statistical modeling techniques (regression, decision trees, clustering, etc.)Opportunities to learn and use SQL coding and other analytical toolsContinuously develop relationships with fellow coops through social activities, community building, and networkingOther duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Recommended Qualifications
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or universityRising Junior or Senior Student, returning to a degree program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the coopPreferred majors: Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, StatisticsStrong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Experience with SQL preferred. Experience with or willing to learn other analytical tools such as R or Python.Experience with Tableau preferred.Problem solving and critical thinkingStrong communication skills and willing to work with peopleAvailable to work 40 hours per week over the course of the programAuthorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
