Our client, a Maine-based Employee Owned civil engineering firm, is seeking to add a Senior Traffic Engineer to their growing team. This Direct Hire role will lead traffic engineering projects through planning, analysis, and implementation and mentor project staff on technical aspects of the projects.
This role will also:
Oversee the development of traffic studies and permitting for both internal and external projects.
Assist the team with proposal efforts, presentations, client development, and management.
Maintain relationships with clients and agencies and ensure project schedules and budget are met.
Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction drawings using industry standard guidelines.
Analyze traffic data, including but not limited to, traffic volumes, crash data, active transportation user data, etc. Perform intersection and roadway analysis utilizing Synchro and SimTraffic.
Skills and experiences expected for this role are:
Civil Engineering Bachelor’s Degree.
6+ years’ experience in Traffic or Transportation Engineering (Traffic preferred).
Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
PTOE and IMSA certifications are not required but are a plus.
Proficient in Engineering software such as Synchro / SimTraffic and MicroStation or AutoCAD; VISSIM experience a plus.
