JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Manage the UT System Professional Liability Database:

Manages the enrollment and maintenance of the UT System Professional Liability database. This includes registration of moonlighting and contract workers, processing policy cancellations, and monthly reconciliations of new hires, terminations, retirements, and promotions. Also responsible for quarterly billing/payments and reconciliation.

Preparation, compilation, and reconciliation of financial reports and adhoc reports and analysis:

Prepares, compiles, and reconciles the cash flow report and UT System's quarterly financial reports. Responsible for month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Completes annual admin accountability report, faculty senate report, quarterly UT D6 report, and other requests from UT System. Prepares various adhoc reports, analyses, or projects as assigned.

PRS Faculty Database Maintenance:

Responsible for monthly updates to the PRS Faculty Database used for calculation of monthly accruals and salary/benefit allocation (occurs on day 1 of month-end close). Creates tables and queries in the database to ensure efficient reporting of accruals and reconciliation to Peoplesoft. Prepares monthly journal entries for benefit accruals, salary/benefit allocation, and incentive accruals. Prepares annual entries for reversal of benefit/retirement benefits.

Annual Budget Process:

Responsible for creating the budget database for the annual PRS budget process for faculty benefits budgets. Records budget updates daily in the PRS budget database for all faculty-related positions. Responsible for daily interfaces and reconciliations of the budget database. Works closely with Financial Planning and Analysis to identify and resolve variances. Builds tables and queries as needed to ensure accuracy of budget data.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related business specialty.

Required Experience:

Five years experience in data analysis, accounting or financial project management.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with budgets, general ledger, and analytical skills.

Work Location:

This position is remote. Searching for a candidate who lives in the Houston area only. No out of town or out of state applicants.
