The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, Inc. (the League)

was founded in 1972 as one of the country's first state Primary Care Associations (PCAs). The League is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization registered as a public charity with the Commonwealth's Secretary of State. The League has several affiliated organizations to accomplish its mission to serve community health centers. The successful candidate will provide strong financial management skills to ensure fiscal integrity and compliance for mission-driven programs to improve health equity.

Position SummaryDevelop and maintain all general ledger accounting procedures for financial activities of the Institute for Health Equity Research, Evaluation and Policy (IHE), the Connecticut River Valley Farmworker Program (CRVFP), and Commonwealth Purchasing Group (CPG) in concert with the VP of Finance. Provide accurate and timely information and support to the Chief Financial Officer for monthly financial statements. This role is tasked with managing all pre and post-award activities for multiple grants, awards, and donations provided to the IHE, CRVFP, and CPG, including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, financial statement preparation, and maintaining compliance with regulations governing the use of funds. The Sr. Grant and GL Accountant will manage the following areas:Grants management - monitor the life cycle of local, national government, and private foundation grants.Accounts Payable - including communications with vendors and staff regarding account status.Accounts Receivable - manage monthly bank statement entries and review A/R aging report.Review and maintain all Concur reports for Corporate American Express card users.Maintain the financial side of the general ledger system and periodic financial reporting.Attend meetings of the IHE, CPG, and CRVFP senior leadership.Other tasks as needed to support the VP Finance and annual audit support.

Essential Functions(The following is a list of essential functions, which may be subject to change at any time and without advance notice.)Key contributor to month-end financial close and management reporting.Oversight and review of all accounts payable and vendor invoices.Assists with financial grants management across the life cycle.Collaborates with senior staff to ensure compliance with intended use of funds.Performs monthly reconciliations and reports of balance sheet accounts.Communication with vendors/staff to resolve account issues.Assist with annual audit as directed by Chief Financial Officer/VP Finance/Controller.

Competencies/SkillsComputer skills, including accounting software and spreadsheets.Microsoft Office suite: Excel (advanced user), Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint.Organized, punctual, reliable, and a team player.

Education/ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.Knowledge of accounting procedures and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Knowledge and experience with grant accounting.1-3 years of related experience.
