American College of Physicians (ACP), a prestigious medical membership association for Physicians of internal medicine located in Philadelphia, is seeking a Senior Web Developer.The Senior Web Developer will play a crucial role in the design and development of customer-facing interactive products for the ACP. This position will focus on front-end development – but requires familiarity with full-stack web development - across various online self-assessment products, digital publications, and other online and mobile offerings of the ACP. This is a hybrid role in Philadelphia.Responsibilities:
Serve on product-centric teams and, as necessary, individually carries out the design and development of interactive medical education products, digital publications, and auxiliary software products and related platforms, including architectural design and development across the full cycle of digital product development using HTML/CSS/JavaScript.Work closely with Senior Architects and departmental management on research and development efforts, incorporating cutting-edge trends in software architecture to enhance the organization's product line.Ensure designs and techniques align with system architectures and standards within the organization, in coordination with Senior Architects and departmental management.Foster strong relationships with other departments and divisions to ensure effective coordination of efforts and seamless cross-functional collaboration.Provide expertise in interactive product design and development to other departments involved in software product conception and design.Participate in technical discussions, analysis, assessment, and interactions with consultants and contractors when required.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in the area of Computer Science.Experience designing and developing database-backed, multi-tiered web applications.Experience with standards-based, service-oriented architectures and open-source environments.Experience working with content management systems such as Drupal is a plus.Work experience must demonstrate:
Solid understanding of the entire application stack.Demonstrable experience with server-side JavaScript and JavaScript application frameworks.Experience integrating current client-side technologies for the front end, e.g., current CSS-based layouts, JS libraries (JQuery, React), HTML5, CSS (SASS/SCSS experience is a plus), and ideally, mobile-optimized views.
