Overview

VTG is seeking an Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Lead Technician, to work in Okinawa, Japan. This position is contingent upon contract award.

What will you do?

General technical knowledge to build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and electrical or electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems by performing the following duties:

Discuss standard layout and assembly procedures and problems.

May draw sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.

Review the system logs and error logs for any problem indications.

Physical inspection of all access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection devices to ensure full functionality and proper alignment.

Test each access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection device installed to verify correct operations are recorded on the system log.

Test each backup battery installed in each ACS/IDS sub-system enclosure.

Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

Sets up standard test apparatus and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.

Analyze and interpret test data.

Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components and record effects on unit performance.

Utilize technical reports and charts, graphs, and schematics for system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.

Check functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions with supervisor.

Provide technical expertise, services, and materials to support OCONUS ATFP, A/V, and VTC Sustainment for NIWC Pacific supporting ESS, A/V, and VTC requirements for various commands.

Sustainment of OCONUS enterprise systems includes: alarms, naval munitions command, cameras, intrusion detection, access control, A/V, control systems, VTC, emergency operation centers, regional dispatch centers, local dispatch centers, and dispatch activities as needed.

Knowledgeable in ESS troubleshooting techniques and be able to determine if issues are hardware or software related.

Knowledgeable in Cisco, Polycom, Extron, AMX, Crestron, and ThinkLogical hardware and must be knowledgeable in AMX, Crestron, Extron, and ThinkLogical software programming.

Do you have what it takes?

Education/Experience:

One (1) year of experience supporting Electronic Security Systems (ESS) for at least two (2) DoD contracts including integration, configuration, network programming, testing, troubleshooting, cleaning, repairing, and replacing hardware and wiring infrastructure for Access Control Systems (ACS) such as Access Control Enforcer (ACE); Intrusion Detection System (IDS) such as DMP; and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) video surveillance systems such as Axis. Experience coordinating with drafters, managing material inventory, scheduling with points of contact on-site, and providing quality assurance in accordance with DoD requirements. Ability to be on call.
