Experience doing Coverage Analysis or Budget Reviews of clinical trialsBA degree in business or healthcare related field or an equivalent combination of education and experienceProven analytical and modeling skillsWorking knowledge of medical terminology and experience with CPT, HCPCS, ICD10 codes as they relate to clinical research billingAbility to work as part of a collaborative team & excellent communication skillsStrong investigative and problem-solving skills and attention to detailResponsibilities
Performs cost coverage analysis or budget reviews for all clinical research studiesServes as a consultant to guide other personnel on what patient care items and services are considered standard of careCreates study budget for any and all research activity occurring within the hospital facility to accurately determine relevant costs associated with all research activityEnsures compliant research billing as mandated by regulatory agencies (FDA, OHRP, OIG, CMS)Acts as a liaison between finance departments, patient financial services, facility research directors and system reimbursement services for the purpose of communicating information regarding the National Coverage Decision for clinical trials and other federal research regulationsPerforms patient account audits to ensure compliance, such as individual patient billing audits, study audits, device audits and validation of data and information contained within institutional systems (e.g., Epic, IRB system, clinical trial management system, etc.)Interacts with sponsors, physicians, colleagues, facility administrators, and patient financial services to ensure effective communication and project coordinationJob Summary:
