BMDACC conducts Phases I-III clinical trials covering all Oncology disease groups with the goal to provide support to the physician investigators and to provide trial treatment options to the patients in a safe and ethical manner.As a
Senior Clinical Research Financial Analyst , you will be responsible for reviewing all applicable study documents to complete the Cost and Coverage Analysis utilizing clinical skills, good clinical practices, and knowledge of research billing and government regulations. Prior pre-award research finance experience in Cost and Coverage Analysis, budget negotiation, and billing and regulatory compliance is required, and oncology experience is strongly preferred.Schedule:
Remote, Full-time, exempt 40 hours, Monday – Friday.POSITION SUMMARYThis position provides pre-initiation research study evaluation including cost, coverage, and overall financial benefit analysis. Ensures analytical evaluations provide relevant and complete measures of cost, revenue, and billing projections and processing. Ensures regulatory compliance and financial coverage. Develops and maintains effective project relationships.CORE FUNCTIONSCompletes Cost and Coverage Analysis for all BH research studies utilizing clinical skills and knowledge of research and government regulations.Creates study budget for research activity occurring within a BH facility.Negotiates study budget, integrating Medicare Coverage rules and allowances into contracts.Ensures compliance with federal, state, funding source, and other applicable regulations.Acts as a liaison between finance departments and patient financial services.Performs patient account audits to ensure compliance.Coordinates closely with Banner Research and University of Arizona staff in the study approval process.Leads and administers research projects and promotes collegiality between stakeholders.This position evaluates approximately 100 new study proposals per year with a research budget in excess of $3 million.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in business or healthcare related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Three to five years related experience working directly with clinical research charge review and billing, coverage analysis, and clinical trials budgeting and negotiations.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSProven working knowledge of medical terminology and experience with CPT, HCPCS, ICD10 codes as they relate to clinical research billing.Additional related education and/or experience preferred.Anticipated Closing Window:
