Job Description
The DevOps Engineer increases speed of delivery, improves quality/security of code, and optimizes processes for the development team. The DevOps Engineer identifies the bottlenecks of various development and delivery processes, collaborating where applicable to alleviate them, to improve the overall customer experience. They are responsible for infrastructure-as-code deployment tooling and supporting services on multiple cloud providers along with metrics and logging.
POSITION LOCATION:
This position is eligible for a fully remote schedule with all work performed remotely.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Collaborate closely with technology leads and developers across various teams to assess current state and implement process improvements.Proactively detect impending bottlenecks and production issues and provide hands-on consultation towards technical solutions.Aid in planning delivery time, code quality, and process efficiency improvement projects.Build and execute process improvement plans by building coding standardizations and automating processes for the organization.Perform environmental health checks, disk space monitoring, and environmental status reporting.Stay abreast of industry developments in platform configuration management and troubleshooting, applying innovative skills and experience as technology evolves.Deployment of application artifacts to appropriate target environments using supported technologies and infrastructure.Survey developers and technical members of the organization to understand primary pain points in the coding and development process.Collaborate with the rest of the DevOps team to deliver consistent, holistic solutions to the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent preferred.2+ years of experience as a DevOps or SRE Engineer on a cross-functional, agile team preferred.Strong understanding of agile methodologies.Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS and Azure) and cluster management tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, configuration management and monitoring).Experience building and debugging operating systems, databases, and infrastructure at scale.Excellent coding and scripting skills (e.g., NodeJS, Go, Python, and Shell) and experience implementing high-scale cloud architectures using modern, cloud-based container platforms (e.g., PaaS/SaaS).Working knowledge of deployment automation solutions (e.g., Terraform, Puppet, and Chef).Experience with continuous integration and related tools (e.g., Jenkins or another CI/CD platform, Git [GitHub/GitLab], Sonar, etc.).Strong communication skills with ability to relay complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and align the organization on decisions.Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simply.Team-player mentality in collaboration creating innovative solutions efficiently.Commitment to team culture of transparency and trust as leading principles.Openness to learning and development outside current scope of knowledge.
Additional Information
Hiring Pay Range: $75,000 - $121,000
Actual pay will vary based on qualifications and other factors.
