Hexcel is currently seeking a

Vice President - Space & Defense, Americas

for our

Salt Lake City, UT, USA

location. As a member of our Americas Business Leadership Team, this role will help facilitate the transition from a traditional Sales orientation to a Customer Business Team organization structure, test different growth and sales plans for the Space & Defense segment, and adjust the sales strategy as needed to meet top line sales goals and increase profits. This role is highly cross-functional, partnering with leaders across all functions to establish our position in the market and execute on our business strategies for our industry-leading offerings.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following responsibilities:Define a clear go-to-market strategy for the Space and Defense segment.Develop customer intimacy with key OEMs and government agencies.Execute strategy to drive profitable revenues for the company.Lead Customer Business Teams in line with customer structure.Define a growth strategy to develop the business beyond current markets/platforms.Identify and evaluate new markets, partners, channels, and customers.Lead proposals and negotiations for new business opportunities and collaborate with other functions to support business development plans.Lead the Government Relations function for the Americas Business Team, including leveraging congressional support, building deep understanding of the DoD acquisition process and selection of composite materials on platforms, and strengthening the Hexcel brand and offering in the selection process.Build relationships with key executives to generate and develop ideas, pursue opportunities and close sales.Develop a strong understanding of the Space & Defense market and competitive landscape with support from the Product Management team and work with Marketing Communication to develop effective promotional materials to support customer engagement.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a business-related, composites or chemical engineering major and 15+ years of business-to-business sales experience including leadership experience, such as working as a Sales Lead, General Manager, Sales VP or Sr. Director. Previous aerospace experience preferred but not required.Leading a B2B sales organization selling to enterprise customers.Selling value to enterprises and developing/owning business cases to support and demonstrate that value.Delivering on 7-figure deals with C-level executives.Strong leadership and sales skills.Highly effective communicator and collaborator, with a demonstrated history of working successfully across all levels of an organization.Analytical skills to evaluate data and use it to make decisions.Understanding of market trends and adaptability to follow those trends.Motivational and influential.Problem-solving, customer service, strategic planning strong organizational and strong organizational skills.
