Our Device team is made up of driven engineers who are responsible for all of the code running on a variety of devices Flock deploys in the real world. They enable the whole experience by writing applications that reliably capture, process, and upload data for years at a time without needing human interaction to keep them running.How you'll make an impact:Take responsibility for a feature or module and deliver with high quality.Be responsible for a certain amount of QA/quality of your workWrite automatable code.Document work, test cases, and interact with program, product, QA, and other engineers.Estimate work within reasonable accuracy and ability to communicate adjustments.Assist in supporting issues reported in the field.We're looking for people who:Have strong Java, C/C++ skills.Possess the ability to pick up Kotlin, unless they already have it!Are able to navigate the various layers of AOSP: apps, framework, HAL, kernel, bootloader.Have demonstrated expertise in a few areas of AOSP.Are able to learn new areas of AOSP or learn these areas: power management, factory testing, image partitioning, camera, security.Have the ability to read through a large existing codebase and adapt quickly.Have worked with custom Android devices or ability to.Have strong debugging skills and debugging on custom Android HW.Have experience with JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Gerrit, Git/GitHub.Employee BenefitsIn this role, every full-time employee receives equity (stock options) in the company and a starting salary between $155,000-$190,000.We offer unlimited PTO and twelve paid holidays.We offer fully-paid health benefits plan for employees, including Medical, Dental and Vision.We provide 16 weeks of 100% paid leave for primary caregivers and six weeks of 100% paid leave for secondary caregivers.We provide $150 per month work from home allowance.We provide a $250 per year L&D stipend that can be used on Audible, Calm, Masterclass, Duolingo, and so much more.Each new hire receives a one-time stipend of $750 to assist with expenses that come with setting up a home office.We provide employees who are not local to the ATL headquarters with coworking space access paid for by Flock.Flock is an equal opportunity employer.
