The Senior Analyst, Product Development performs research, analysis, and assessment of the business and financial impact of new products and benefits. The position analyzes options and alternatives as part of the assessment of new products or changes to existing products and recommends solutions. The Senior Analyst participates in the implementation of new products and benefits and the implementation of benefit modifications. The position is also responsible for supporting other features of the change process such as regulatory filings and the needs of interdepartmental workgroups involved in development or implementation of new products and benefits. The Senior Analyst also trains and directs Analysts as needed.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree and three years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to develop presentations and articulate analytic results and assessments.Strong problem-solving skills.Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Word, Outlook/Email, and PowerPoint.Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Excel.Duties And ResponsibilitiesSupport the development of new products and benefits by performing the analysis and coordinating the efforts of others to produce the necessary information to be used in decision making by HMSA leadership. Produce comprehensive assessments of proposed changes through collaborative efforts with internal partners and subject matter experts. Prepare financial, brand, regulatory, customer, market competitor, provider, and other business impact analyses for review during the product development and change process. Present information in a way that emphasizes clarity and assists with understanding and decision-making by the intended audience.Conduct strategic portfolio assessments, setting objectives and making recommendations for change based on goals, operational constraints, and limitations. Assist in identifying areas of product and/or benefit inefficiency and work with internal business partners to make improvements.Research and analyze the implications of ad hoc benefit or product change requests. Evaluate employer group requests for new products or benefits by understanding the business objective and providing an assessment and solutions to meet the request, often on a short turnaround basis.Provide subject matter expertise during the filing and implementation of all new products, benefits, and language changes. Assist in assuring that documentation, communications as well as Guide to Benefits, certificates, and other product materials correctly reflect necessary changes.Keep abreast of all mandated changes affecting the product portfolio and perform analysis of the impact of mandated change. Coordinate reviews with other internal subject matter experts and provide the necessary information needed by others for decision-making and implementation. Provide implementation support for mandated changes.Mentor and train analysts to perform product development research, analysis, and portfolio assessments.Perform all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.
