Director, Consumer Sales

based in Los Angeles or New York. The role is responsible for building media partnerships with consumer brands including event & experiential sponsorships, branded content, digital, print, and social solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to join THR during a time of exciting growth and evolution into the lifestyle and culture space.The role requires a solutions-oriented business development approach and a salesperson that is positive, empathetic, an active listener, and a no-ego team player that drives revenue growth by developing and implementing effective integrated sales strategies and programs. The Director, Consumer Sales will also be required to open doors and break new accounts that span across multiple industries including Luxury, Fashion, Lifestyle, and Culture. This sales star will be an integral member of The Hollywood Reporter’s sales team.Must have:Proven track record as a top multiplatform sellerHistory of consistently exceeding revenue targets and overcoming challengesExperience closing large and complex deals with advertisers and key agency stakeholdersMinimum of 5 years client-facing experience in a similar business development role in a highly entrepreneurial environmentHigh level client and agency relationships with experience calling on both B2B and B2C accountsExcellent communication, interpersonal collaboration, and problem-solving skills.Primary Responsibilities:Generate revenue through live and virtual events, digital/print media, custom, branded, and sponsored content salesDevelop and drive innovative new revenue opportunities across all platformsInitiate/grow/maintain new and existing client and agency relationshipsProactively build and maintain a pipeline of sales targets, contacts, and sales opportunitiesDevelop integrated 360 client/agency pitches that include display, video, social, and mobile including experiential and custom content integrationsCollaborate and ideate with sales, marketing, and event leadershipBuild deeper relationships and awareness of THR’s offerings at both clients and agencies.Desired Skills and Qualifications:Relationships that span across multiple categoriesSuperior communication and negotiation skills with the ability to come up with creative conceptsAbility to navigate internal relationships and collaborate with other sellers, divisions, and brands within PMC/THRWillingness to travel for meetings and events as needed, entertain clients, and attend industry eventsMust be well-organized, self-motivated, and drivenCompensation:Typical wage range: $120k-$150k plus quarterly paid commission for achieving specific revenue targets. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to current employees already in this role. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.PMC is committed to the health and wellness of our employees.
